Iced Tea Perfection: Two Ways to Chill Out
Craving a refreshing iced tea? We've got you covered with two brewing methods to quench your thirst and elevate your tea experience:
1. The Quick Quench Method:
Double the Strength: Use twice the amount of tea (two tea bags or double the loose leaf) for a concentrated brew. (We will thin out by adding cold water below, keep reading!)
Heat Things Up: Bring water to a rolling boil and let cool to around 80°C / 176°F).
Steep It Right: Steep your tea for 3-5 minutes, following the recommended time for your chosen blend.
Cool Down: Add an equal amount of cold water to your hot tea concentrate.
Ice, Ice, Baby! Pour over ice and enjoy immediately, or chill in the refrigerator for later.
NOTE: To make a larger pitcher of iced tea, just multiply the formula to work out how many glasses you wish to make.
2. The Cold Brew Method (Recommended):
Plan Ahead (and Party On!): This method requires a bit more time, but rewards you with a smoother, less tannic iced tea. We always recommend this method, and that way you will always have a refreshing iced tea on hand. Plus, it's perfect for making a big batch! Just multiply the amounts of tea and water to fill your pitcher.
Combine and Chill: Add your tea to cold water in a pitcher and refrigerate, covered, for 8-12 hours.
Pro Tip: Rest a wooden spoon across the pitcher and hang the tea bags over the handle for easy removal later!
Strain and Savour: Remove the tea bags or strain the loose leaf, then pour over ice and enjoy.
Pro Tip: To avoid cloudy iced tea, allow the hot tea mixture to cool to room temperature before refrigerating.
Lemon Myrtle Iced Tea: Your perfect summer companion.
Store your tea in a cool, dry place, and it will reward you with years of delicious enjoyment.
